My internal maps serve several purposes related to issues on my website: One is the mapping of ancient sites or other locations for my mythology projects, the other is my "volcano watch" as an extension of my weather forecast project: As an easy and practical data base you find on these maps really all know active volcanoes worldwide, mapped accurately on Google satellite maps and stuffed with all related basic geologic informations and links to the USGS database . My special features are: links to many volcano webcams ( as far as available) >Each volcano and ancient site mark in the register cards is equipped with "Google Earth program commands ": With just one click, your Google Earth program will find the exact location of the requested site and you can see the real environmental close up image of that site. Also on these regional maps: A weekly updated activity report of the volcanoes in that region (updated once per week- usually Thursdays) with alert levels , activity history and links to local survey institutes . Histories of significant Earthquakes or related events as well as media reports or documentary videos

HISTORY OF THIS PAGE: This statistic report was started in October 2010. With this site, I want generallyto create a timely overview on volcnanic activities over the year and not just a momentary report. Therefore, you will find in this report the following additional attributes:

SOURCES OF VOLCANO DATA, INFORMATIONS AND REPORTS : Weekly global volcanism reports by: :SMITHSONIAN INSTITUTE/ USGS- USA (global volcanism program)

Data on volcano status in this report are regularly updated with data of the global volcanism program (GVP) . New Updates on the worldwide volcano activity are issued usually each Wednesday for the past week ."alert levels" in this report generally accord the the alert levels , as weekly issued by GVP. Please note: Due to the data processings ar USGS and other institutes, this map can be updated only once weekly. So far as possible I hope to have enough time to keep this page updated. If I should miss this mark, you can always obtain current volcano data at: USGS Global Volcanism Program

> The following table contains all volcanoes those were reportedly active since October 2010 ( time when this page was established ). Most volcanoes once "awoken" resp. active become frequently active again over longer periods of time.

This page runs over a half year (first and second half) and is archived then. For a better overview, volcanoes those were not active during such a period are erased in the archives.

> The numbers in the fields respresent the date of the specific month, on which changes on the activity status were reported bySmithsonian/USGS or other sources. + added to date number ( such as 16+) stands for changes in the volcanoe`s activity status .

> Own extensions to this report:

Though Geologists just have several indications ( such as nearby mostly low magnitude Earthquakes) that any volcano is going to become active again, the eruptions themselves seem to happen at any non predictable moment. Another problem is to say, wether any volcano really remains being calm, after any eruption has stopped. The Smithsonian Institute however removes any previous active or eruptive volcanoes just from the yellow alert lists on the institute`s webpage, if the volcano does no more show significants signs of activity .The fact, that many of these volcanoes erupted again after a while , indicates, that it can not be predicted, when any volcano is real quite again . By the fact , that almost all active volcanoes however are on,resp. near to any geological fault or subduction zone/line , those volcanoes never become really inactive forever .

Therefore, I introduced the color grey (means: currently inactiv- status: unknown) in this statistic, if the yellow alert is cancelled by the USGS , to indicate, that such a volcano might become active again after a while.

>if any volcano after an significant activity (yellow alert =active) or red alert =unrest, eruptive) remains calm for more than two months , its status in this report will be set to "green" (=calm) again.
